Be Still and Know
Monthly Contemplative Anxiety Group
Fourth Thursday of every month (6:30-7:30pm)
Presented by Ashley Buffington, LPC
at Kairos Church, Atlanta
Be Still and Know is a gathering for those seeking relief from anxiety through connection with God and others. We will begin each group with a moment of stillness and follow it with a contemplative practice. Next, we will take time to share our personal experiences of anxiety and discuss ways to encounter Christ in those moments of difficulty. Lastly, we will end our time together with silence and a sacred reading. Although the group is rooted in the Christian faith tradition, I am intentional about fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion of all people.

Dream Groups
Ignatius House Retreat Center
(Sandy Springs, GA)- Fourth Thursday’s; for more about this group, email [email protected]
Amerson House
Sundays, 1:30pm-3:30pm
Framing the time together with prayer, silence, and a brief conversation on dream work, the group shares and discusses the energy and meaning of dream images as a way of listening to and honoring God’s desire for us to grow ever more fully into wholeness. A dream reflection method is used that sparks insights for all participants, while protecting the privacy of the dreamer. Four trained dream group facilitators share the rotation leading our weekly gatherings. Some dream work experience is helpful but not required. All new participants receive a resource packet. To participate or learn more about the group, please contact Howison Hollenberg at [email protected] or 404-444-9902.

Religious teachings and wisdom has proven to us that contemplative practice can provide powerful pathways to awareness, compassion, love, and “oneness”. Centering prayer, meditation, mindfulness, and “Lectio Divina” are just a few of the contemplative practices embraced by today’s mainstream traditions. These along with other practices allow us to open our hearts to self and to each other.
Interfaith Contemplative Meetings create an environment where persons of various faiths (or none) can gather monthly for contemplative practice and community building. Our groups are purposefully designed to focus on personal experience and inter-personal relationships rather than institutionalized theology and doctrine. We begin our gatherings in contemplative practice, with 20 minutes of silence. We then engage in discussion on the personal spirituality of our participants, or a topic that allows us to share experiences from each other’s faith. Group facilitators gently guide discussions to ensure all voices are heard.
The rich dialogue that ensues fosters interfaith friendship, understanding and growth. All this goodwill in 90 minutes! You are always welcome to join us, at any location.
Send an email to join the relevant mailing list, and to receive the latest information and confirmation of dates - especially as the location or timing may change from time to time, due to unforeseen circumstances. Thank you for your understanding!
